The appointment was formalized through Presidential Decree (Keppres) No. 116/P of 2025, issued on Oct. 9, 2025, which stipulates both the dismissal and the new appointment.

Amran was inaugurated to the new position at the Bapanas office on Monday.

“To dismiss with honor Arief Prasetyo Adi from his position as Head of the National Food Agency,” the decree reads.

“To appoint Andi Amran Sulaiman as Head of the National Food Agency, granting him the financial rights and other facilities in accordance with prevailing laws and regulations.”

Arief Prasetyo Adi had served as head of Bapanas since Joko “Jokowi” Widodo's administration, when he was inaugurated on Feb. 21, 2022.
