he National Police’s Densus 88 counterterrorism unit arrested a suspected terrorist in Purbalingga, Central Java, early on Sunday. The suspect identified only as AZ was arrested at an Islamic boarding school.
“He was arrested at 5.30 a.m in Gumuruh village in Purbalingga,” police spokesman Insp. Gen. Suhardi Alius said as quoted by tribunnews.com.
The suspect is allegedly connected to a group that threw an explosive device at Gladak police station, Central Java, in August and shot at a police officer in Surakarta in the same month.
“We are developing the case,” Suhardi said.
