US President Barack Obama on Wednesday declared unequivocally that the United States had 'concluded' that the Syrian government carried out a deadly chemical weapons attack on civilians. But new hurdles emerged that appeared to slow the formation of an international coalition that could use military force to punish Syria.
Your comments:
Imagine a Nobel Peace Winner being charged with war crimes.
Utter nonsense! Show proof to the UN before launching your missiles! The world is not as stupid this time around. Obama will be solely responsible for any deaths due to these missiles and will leave himself vulnerable to facing a war crimes tribunal.

Ironic, isn't it? It's fate, perhaps.

Could the US involvement in Syria be worse than its involvement in Afghanistan? The Middle East has just breathed a collective sigh of relief after Obama said there would be no strike before congressional
authorization.
Let's make peace with our past so that it doesn't spoil our present. War is hell and there are no good guys.

'We know Iraq has high level contacts with al- Qaeda.' 'We know for certain that Iraq has weapons of mass destruction.' 'We have intelligence that Iraq attempted to buy yellow cake uranium from Niger.'
Does this sound familiar? The US government never tells the truth to the people. Only 6 percent support an attack but the term 'the people' means nothing to Obama.

The British government, usually a US ally, is surprisingly patient now. Why does it have a different stance in the Syria case?

A lot of people do not believe what the US says, even if they support the president. The British parliament voted 'no' to supporting military intervention and two out of three Americans also oppose military action against Syria.

Obama is no different than George W. Bush. Have we found weapons of mass destruction in Iraq?
Do you believe that Osama bin Laden was killed by US forces and his body was dumped in the sea? They must think we were idiots to believe such a story.
Now the same thing is happening again. Liars continue to lie to the world. Just sit and think for a second. Why would Syria use chemical weapons to kill women and children when UN inspectors are in the country? Where is the logic? Ask yourself, who benefits from all of this? My answer is Israel.
Arpuji
Arpuji, you say UN inspectors are in Syria, well they are only where Assad allowed them to be. Why did it take almost a week before they were allowed by Assad to inspect the areas where chemical weapons had been used?
I believe Assad has more support now even though he has carried out these attacks. He has gained what he may have wished for.
Along with killing a lot of his opponents, he has split the world, leaving more people supporting him as many people are against the US when it gets involved, as we see in most of the comments here.
Of course a US attack is going to make things much worse in the region and in the world, but for the Syrian people things can't get much worse than they are now. Wake up and stop protecting Assad.
Lars Andersen
I'm in the 'Syrian govt launched the chemical attacks' camp, although nobody really can be sure until the UN task force publishes its report. Somebody tried hard to prevent the task force from entering Syria, though.
Nevertheless, I'm fiercely against the US playing the role of world policeman yet again.
Did the US not learn anything from its recent campaigns?
Monsterman
Obama knows and the world knows that there is no 'proof' that the Syrian government has carried out chemical warfare. Obama is lying.
