five-year old by the name of Valentino had allegedly committedsuicide after failing to get his parents'€™ permission to watch the newestsuperhero movie Spiderman at the cinema. The victim jumped from his parents'€™ 19th floor apartmentwindow.

The parents who knew right away about the incident then rushed their son to nearest hospital but to no avail. The kindergarten pupil was pronounced dead before reaching Pluit Hospital, North Jakarta. Kompas.com reported on Thursday.

Penjaringan Police chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Suyudi said according to the mother'€™s statement, Valentino had earlier asked her to watch the new Spiderman movie, which is currently playing in the cinema, but did not give him permission because she had to tend to Valentino'€™s little brother, who was ill.

'€œAfter his request was declined, Valentino then rushed to his room and locked it from the inside. The mother was still trying to unlock the door when she heard a sound that turned out to be her son jumping from the room's window,'€ he said.

The boy'€™s body has been sent to the Cipto Mangunkusumo General Hospital in Central Jakarta for further examination. The police are currently handling the case, trying to find out whether other circumstances that may have led to his suicide.(dic)
