South Korean boyband SHINee will hold its first Jakarta concert on June 22. It will be their fourth visit to the city, but during the previous occasions they were only part of a lineup of performers in music events.

The five members '€” Onew, Jonghyun, Key, Minho and Taemin '€” would greet their fans at Mata Elang International Stadium (MEIS) in Ancol, North Jakarta.

SHINee (reads as shy-nee) is managed by SM Entertainment, which also helped to launch the careers of Super Junior and Girl'€™s Generation.

The group has gained popularity in Japan and other Asian countries with their upbeat songs and synchronized choreographed dance routines.

The group was brought to town by Synergism Entertainment as part of its '€œSHINee World III'€ tour, which started in early March in Seoul.

'€œSHINee is the most popular Korean boyband today. Their presence will mean a lot to Indonesia'€™s Shawols [the name fans call themselves] and Korean music fans in general,'€ said Fransiska Melani, a spokesperson for Synergism Entertainment.

Tickets are set to go on sale at existing online ticket sellers with prices ranging from Rp 800,000 (US$69) to Rp 2.5 million for VIP seats.
