The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has called on West Java Deputy Governor Deddy Mizwar, a Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) politician, to stop working in the entertainment industry and start focusing on his job as a government official.

The KPK gratuity director, Giri Suprapdiono, said it was wrong for Deddy to continue acting in television soap operas (sinetron), while millions of residents in West Java were still living in poverty.

Your comments:

Finally someone said something. I'€™ve been sick and tired of seeing him doing advertisements on TV, instead of doing good public service announcements for people.

He is obligated to do the right thing for people since he was elected a public official. He should resign as deputy and do whatever he wants with his life after that.

His main job is as an actor, and side job is as deputy governor.

What is wrong with you people? As long as it does not compromise his duty as the deputy governor, why should it be a problem? It is just as simple as a governor with a hobby of playing tennis, golf or fishing, or like a president who plays music. Is playing tennis or guitar unethical? Just because he earns money from his hobby, then you people start to mind.

This just shows you how screwed up the government in Indonesia is. Who could ever take these people seriously?
