tate-owned train operator PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI), through its subsidiary PT Reska Multi Usaha (RMU), opened its first cafe in Bandung, West Java on Monday in order to cater to the burgeoning culinary market in the city.
Located on Jalan Bengawan, Big 99 Cafe offers a number of favorite traditional dishes such as 'sop konro bakar' (grilled ox rib soup) and 'lumpia bohai' (spring rolls filled with bamboo shoots) as well as western dishes like sirloin steak, spaghetti and beef cordon blue.
Milk-based beverages with a lot of different flavors will be the drink specialties.
"With the human resources that we have today, we are going to continue to expand our business by opening cafes like this in the future," RMU president director Noorhamidi said in a statement on Monday.
The cafe also provides a 'lesehan' area (sit-on-the-floor area), meeting rooms and live music to attract guests and improve its service.
"We offer a lot of facilities to customers so that they can enjoy their meals here. We're also giving 30 percent discount for all food and beverages until Sept.13," Big 99 Cafe manager Ferry said. (nfo)
