Blogger and traveler Astari Ratnadya is not picky when it comes to choosing gadgets. She can work with any available device to create an appealing post on her blog, www.ivegotago.com.

Tari, as she is fondly called, is not an ordinary student. While she pursues her bachelor'€™s degree at Sahid Jaya University in Jakarta, Tari travels extensively around the archipelago, and she has won numerous blogging competitions.

In June, she was selected to join the Nusantara Jaya expedition initiated by the Coordinating Maritime Affairs Ministry. Sailing on the Navy'€™s KRI Banda Aceh warship, Tari and the expedition team explored and distributed aid to the country'€™s easternmost parts, including East Nusa Tenggara'€™s Kupang and West Papua'€™s Sorong, during a 26-day journey.

The 23-year-old says that her laptop, tablet and smartphone are the essential devices needed for blogging. Additionally, she also regularly uses a desktop and two cameras.

'€œTo be honest, most of the gadgets I have are from competitions prizes,'€ she chuckles, adding she has won a computer, two hand phones and a GOPro camera.

Since she started blogging in 2014, she has won at least eight competitions held by the Tourism Ministry, food brands and travelling websites.

White PCs for serious tasks

I use a white All-in-One desktop Lenovo N300, which runs on Android. Its big, 19.5-inch screen allows me to comfortably review my blog appearance and watch videos. It comes with a matching white keyboard and mouse.

My white Sony Vaio EH37FX i5 laptop is mostly utilized to write blogs and do my coursework. When I am travelling, I use it to video call with my family.

On the go

I bring a HP 7 Voice Tab tablet anywhere I go. Given its wide screen, I find it very convenient to post articles and reply to my emails while I am travelling.

I also have the smartphone Samsung Galaxy Wonder, which is used mostly to access travelling-related applications, like the navigation app Waze and accommodation booking app Agoda, and also the Kompas news portal.

Capturing the journey

My Canon EOS 1100D SLR is utilized for general travelling and blogging activity. I love to use its landscape and sports exposure modes.

The GOPro 3 + SE is suitable for extreme traveling and sports, for example underwater photography. I often make videos and time-lapse videos with it.
