he government has developed 100 hectares of land on the Bangka-Belitung Islands for a cattle breeding operation, Agrarian and Spatial Planning Minister Ferry Mursyidan Baldan has said.
"An island in the Bangka-Belitung Islands is ready for the investor with 100 hectares," Ferry told reporters at the State Palace on Wednesday.
Aside from the Bangka-Belitung Islands, Ferry said the ministry has already prepared five more islands to develop cattle breeding in the country, but refused to name them to avoid land speculation.
Indonesia currently operates seven cattle-breeding farms that are located throughout the country, such as in West Sumatra, East Nusa Tenggara, Bogor in West Java and Pare-Pare in Central Sulawesi. (dan)
