AKARTA: Presenter Raffi Ahmad and wife Nagita Slavina decided against an overstated party to celebrate their son’s first birthday, opting instead for a low-key event with around 100 children from a local orphanage.

The Elmo-themed birthday party was located in a playground in Kemang, South Jakarta, and Raffi said only his immediate relatives were invited.

“Both Gigi and I wanted to have a low-key event to celebrate Rafathar’s birthday. Nothing was overly extravagant. We didn’t invite a lot of people, just around 100 children from the nearby orphanage,” Raffi said as quoted by kapanlagi.com.

Aside from the celebration with the orphans, he said his son was also surprised with five other birthday celebrations.

“Thank God there are a lot of people who love Rafathar so they actually surprised us a couple of times. There were even fans who suddenly told us to go to a restaurant to actually surprise us [with a party],” Raffi said. — JP
