ity-owned bus management company PT Transportasi Jakarta (Transjakarta) announced on Thursday that commuters over the age of 60 will be able avail of its services for free starting from Nov. 1.
Transjakarta CEO Budi Kaliwono said the elderly should first apply for “TJ” cards to enjoy the facility. They can register at any Transjakarta bus stops to obtain the cards until Oct. 17.
There will also be booths for registration at 10 major bus terminals including Glodok, Kalideres and Slipi Petamburan in West Jakarta.
“We will be open for registration from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. People are required to leave their phone numbers when they register so that when the cards are ready our staff can contact them to pick up the cards,” Budi said as quoted by beritajakarta.com.
The free service will also be available for people with disabilities, veterans, people eligible for Social Protection Cards (KPS) and residents of Thousand Islands.
