Anies banks on female supporters to win Jakarta election

akarta gubernatorial election candidate Anies Baswedan said support from women activists has raised his chances at winning the upcoming election.
"We've received support from women activists," Anis was quoted by Antara on the sidelines of the declaration of Bidadari Anies-Sandi, which groups female supporters with Anies and his running mate Sandiaga Uno, in Cilandak Barat, South Jakarta, on Monday.
Anies called on the Bidadari Anies-Sandi to garner support from their family members and community ahead of election day on Feb. 15.
Anies reiterated his campaign program, which focuses on job creation, affordable basic commodities and increased access to quality education.
Anies and Sandiaga have received support from the Gerindra Party and the Prosperous and Justice Party. They will run in the Jakarta gubernatorial election race against Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono and Sylviana Murni who are supported by the Democratic Party, United Development Party, National Awakening Party and National Mandate Party and pair Basuki "Ahok" Tjahaja Purnama and Djarot Saiful Hidayat who are backed by Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle, Golkar Party, Hanura Party and Nasdem Party.
