ity-owned Bank DKI distributed 35,127 Jakarta Smart Cards (KJPs) from a total of 190,000 recipients listed for the second stage of distribution for 2016, an official said on Monday.
The cards were distributed to 12,410 students in South Jakarta, 11,289 in West Jakarta, 5,414 in North Jakarta and 6,014 in Central Jakarta between Feb. 25 to 26.
The recipients were part of the 190,000 recipients that had been listed for the second stage of 2016, Bank DKI corporate secretary Zulfarshah explained.
Zulfarshah said the bank were continuing to distribute the smart cards on weekdays through schools. Bank DKI “distributes seven to ten thousands cards every week,” he said as quoted by tribunnews.com, adding that the distribution was in line with Jakarta Education Agency data.
He said the social assistance program could only be used for non-cash transactions at book stores, school uniform stores, or other merchants that provided Bank DKI electronic data capture (EDC) and Prima Debit.
There were 692,002 smart cards owners with a combined balance of Rp 1.38 trillion (US$103 million) as of February. (lly)
