espite tight security and special fencing erected to give privacy to Saudi Arabia's King Salman Abdulaziz Al Saud at Geger Beach in Bali’s Nusa Dua area, other tourists can still enjoy panoramic views of the famous beach.

Several security personnel were seen guarding the beachfront area at St. Regis Resort Bali where the King and his entourage are staying on Tuesday. However, other tourists, both local and foreign, were also seen strolling along the beach and swimming.

From the morning, many tourists have come to the beach and passed by the private area for a swim, snorkel and surf at the beach, Kompas.com reported.

"In the morning tourists can pass by here, but there are usually restrictions in the afternoon. The security is very tight," said Nyoman Nusa, a local tour guide.

An American tourist named Jose told kompas.com that he had visited Geger Beach to surf in the past two days with his friends. He had also heard about King Salman's stay at the lavish resort and said that during the last two days he had not been hindered by any restrictions.

Besides erecting bamboo fencing covered in white fabric, the management of St. Regis have also built special 20-meter-long walkways that go directly to the beach for King Salman.

King Salman has extended his stay in Bali to March 12 from his planned departure date of March 9. The Saudi Arabian Embassy has delivered an official letter to the Foreign Ministry, notifying it of the holiday extension. (rdi/rin)
