Daud produced a right punch, straight to Phayom's head that sent the 19-year-old Thai onto the canvas in the second round.
The bout, held at OCBC Arena, was part of Battle of Champions: Road to Glory with the main show featuring Charles Manyuchi of Zimbabwe versus Quadratillo Abduqaxorov of Uzbekistan in WBC Silver welterweight.
Daud's promoter, Raja Sapta Oktohari of Mahkota Promotion, said he was seeking an opponent for the boxer in a world title bout.
"The possible upcoming bout for Daud may not be held in Indonesia," said Raja, who is affiliated with a United States-based boxing promoter, in a statement.
The 29-year-old Daud is the former IBO featherweight and lightweight champion. He is now the WBO Asia-Pacific and Africa lightweight champion.
With 37 wins (25 KOs) and three losses, Daud is ranked 10th in the lightweight category, according to BoxRec.
