ublicly listed construction firm PT Acset Indonusa announced on Monday its plan to distribute Rp 39 per share in dividends, totaling Rp 27.3 billion, 40 percent of the firm’s 2016 net profit.

“The dividend will be distributed to shareholders on May 9th,” the firm’s corporate secretary, Maria Cesilia Hapsari, said after a shareholders meeting on Monday.

The shareholders also approved the use of company’s net profit as provisions amounted to Rp 4 billion, or 20 percent of the paid-up capital. The remaining net profit of Rp 37 billion was agreed to be set as retained earnings.

In 2016, the firm’s net profit surged by 63 percent to Rp 68.3 billion. Meanwhile, its revenue rose by 32 percent to Rp 1.79 trillion.

During the shareholders meeting, the company also agreed to increase Bintai Kindenko Engineering Indonesia (BINKEI) shares as much as Rp 28.7 billion. BINKEI is ACSET’s subsidiary that is engaged in mechanical, electrical and plumbing work.

Acset is part of publicly-listed heavy equipment firm PT United Tractor, a subsidiary of diversified group PT Astra International. It focuses on building and construction services. The company builds residential buildings, commercial buildings, infrastructure, hotels and apartments. (ags)
