ovel Baswedan's doctor has advised the Corruption Eradication Commission's (KPK) lead investigator to take full bed rest as high pressure had been detected in his injured eyes.

In the past several days, Novel gave a series of media interviews that the doctor said had contributed to the pressure increase.

"When I saw my doctor yesterday, my eye pressure had apparently increased, so I was asked to refrain from giving any interviews for at least two weeks," Novel said in Singapore in a telephone interview with Antara on Friday night.

Novel's doctor also told him that interviews could raise his emotions and lead to an increase in blood pressure and eventually affect the recovery of his eyes.

"God willing, after that I can meet with journalists again," he added.

On Thursday, scheduled surgery on his left eye was canceled as there had been gradual improvement in the eye, KPK spokesman Febri Diansyah said.
