esanggrahan Police interrogated a junior high school student for taking pictures of their precinct in South Jakarta on Tuesday morning.

The police had suspected the 17-year-old was part of a radical group targeting the police.

South Jakarta Police spokesperson Comr. Purwanta Prawiro Widodo said the teenager took pictures of the police precinct from across the street without permission.

The student apologized and explained the photos were to be used for a school project. However, the police have asked him to delete all the pictures taken.

"This is in line with standard procedures. Officers are always on alert for any suspicious activity," Purwanta said on Tuesday as quoted by wartakota.tribunnews.com. (hol)
