For upcoming film sequel Ayat-Ayat Cinta 2 (Verses of Love 2), singer Raisa has released a new single for its soundtrack.
The song, titled “Teduhnya Wanita” (Serene Women), is part of a series of songs from four top Indonesian divas for the film’s original soundtrack.
Raisa said that, through her song, she tried to take a different approach and perspective on women to fit the film’s story.
“I started with a story on women’s empowerment, but I didn’t want the lyrics to just be about how strong women are,” she said in a press release from her music producer Juni Records.
For the song, Raisa worked with several musicians, including Marco Steffiano, Rayendra Sunito and Haris Pranowo. She also released an official lyric video created by motion artist Isha Hening, while Davy Linggar helmed the music video.
The sequel is scheduled to hit theaters in Indonesia, Malaysia and Brunei on Dec. 21.
