The trash bank receives around 150 tons of waste each month and manages to generate around Rp 300 million (US$21,900) in additional income for people involved in its various trash-for-cash programs. In recognition of its success, the Environment and Forestry Ministry has chosen the BSM to serve as a model for similar projects in other regions nationwide.(JP/Aman Rochman)
