nother rock throwing incident occurred recently, this time involving a commuter train operating the Jatinegara – Bogor route on Monday, creating a hole on a window of the train.

Commuter line operator PT Kereta Commuter Indonesia (KCI) spokeswoman Eva Chairunnisa said the incident occurred on the railway near Duri Station in West Jakarta.

“The train’s window was damaged, and [the incident] halted the service because the train must be returned to a depot for the window replacement,” Eva said on Tuesday as reported by kompas.com.

She said train officers failed to catch any suspects after combing the area after the incident.

“The rock was not too big. However, because the train was traveling at high speed when the rock hit the window, the effect was significant,” she said.

She said such incidents were not uncommon and that the operator suspected that the perpetrators were children.

“We usually find that the culprits are children. They do it for fun,” she said.

She said she expected residents and commuters to cooperate with the operator to ensure the safety of train trips.

The incident went viral on Twitter after user @VostokFoxtrot uploaded a picture of a commuter train window that had been damaged by a rock. (ami)
