National Police spokesperson Brig. Gen. Dedi Prasetyo said that the police have detained at least 20 people on suspicion of their connection to the protest and ensuing riot that occurred from Tuesday evening to Wednesday morning at the Elections Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) in Jakarta.
He said that the detained individuals were not Jakarta residents and were being held at the Central Jakarta Police station for questioning.
Dedi also denied reports that police had used live ammunition to disperse violent protesters. (kmt)
