Passenger tries to snatch cell phone from driver. Twelve end up dead.

A preliminary investigation into an accident that killed 12 on a toll road has revealed that before the accident occurred, a passenger had tried to snatch a cell phone from a bus driver before the bus went over the road separator and hit three vehicles. The accident at the 150 kilometer point on the Cikopo-Palimanan (Cipali) toll road in West Java also severely injured 11 people, while 32 others sustained minor injuries, the police reported on Monday. The accident involved four vehicles: A Safari bus with Semarang registration, a Mitsubishi Xpander and an Innova registered in Greater Jakarta as well as a truck registered in Banyumas, the police report said. The accident happened in the lane heading to Jakarta from the east, near the 150 km point of the toll road.
