IKEA catalog goes digital

S

eptember has always been a special month for global furnishing company IKEA, as that is the time of year it launches its new catalog every year. However, for the 2021 catalog launched earlier in September, IKEA has only rolled out the digital version.

Patrick Lindvall, president director of PT Hero Supermarket Tbk, the Indonesian franchisee for IKEA, said that 2020 was a year full of challenges for all of us, but that the company was continuing to make innovations and look for solutions to adapt in this difficult time.

“[…] Therefore, IKEA has designed this new digital catalog to ensure a safe, hygienic and easily accessible shopping experience for all customers, as well as to help them to maximize their living space for every family members’ comfort,” said Lindvall during the virtual launch of the catalog.

Apart from being able to shop from the comfort of their homes, IKEA customers can also use the store’s personal shopper service, as well as its interior design online consultation service.

In the meantime, IKEA is also preparing for the opening of two new stores in Bandung, West Java, and Jakarta Garden City, East Jakarta, in 2021.
