partial solar eclipse will be visible in over 124 cities and districts throughout Indonesia on Thursday at 5:53 p.m. In South Bengkulu, people will be able to view the natural phenomenon for 34 minutes.
"Bengkulu is a fortunate region, as not all areas will be able to view the eclipse," said Litman, head of the Bengkulu Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) in Kepahiang as quoted by kompas.com.

The eclipse will only be visible in the southern part of West Sumatra, the southeastern section of South Sumatra, Bengkulu, Lampung, Banten, Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, Yogyakarta, and the western section of East Java.
The path of the partial solar eclipse can only be observed at sunset, as it passes across the Atlantic Ocean, the central part of Africa, Madagascar and the Indian Ocean.
“It would definitely be a beautiful scene at sunset, by the beach of Bengkulu,” said Dewi, a local resident. (kha/kes)
