ere’s one event you shouldn’t miss if you happen to be in Bali in June: Festival Tepi Sawah 2017 at Omah Apik, Ubud. It’s an art festival that will be held from June 3 to 4 with activities such as art workshops, lessons on the environment as well as dance and music performances.
The confirmed artist lineup for the festival include Tompi, Dewa Alit, Bona Alit, Sisca Guzheng, Brahma Diva Kencana, Nita Aartsen, Jasmine Okubo, Gustu Bramanta, Tebo Aumbara, Dodi Sambodo and Fascinating Rhythm Community.

There will also be collaborative art performances of music, dance, theater, cinematography, visual arts, craft work and other forms of art.
“This event is created so that art communities and creative people have the chance to showcase their works,” said Anom Darsana, one of the festival’s creators.
Moreover, Darsana said the festival aimed to raise awareness on environmental protection and the concept of reduce, reuse, recycle in everyday life.

In the future, Festival Tepi Sawah would aim to be an environmentally friendly art show that involved artists from different kind of mediums to collaborate and create artworks.
The festival is also partnering up with Clean Bali Series, a non-profit organization that focuses on environmental education. Together with environmental, education, art and culture organizations and activists, they are going to provide a study room for children to learn about the environment. (asw)
