“The idea of the Aku Indonesia concert began with the artists’ concerns about the current state of affairs in Indonesia, which is divided,” Sandec Sahetapy, the concert's initiator, told a press conference in Jakarta on Sunday.

“We want this discord resolved and for us to become one again as a nation. We want to remind the public about the importance of respecting pluralism,” he said, adding that the concert would be free of any political influence. (mas/kes)
