lag carrier Garuda Indonesia,in cooperation with the Foreign Affairs Ministry and the Law and Human Rights Ministry,has announced its newest service, on board immigration for passengers on flights from Shanghaito Jakarta starting May 4.
The kick-off ceremony took place at Pudong InternationalAirport in Shanghai and was attended by the director of the Travel, Visa and Immigration Facility from the Ministry of Law and Human Rightsof Indonesia, Indonesian Consul General in Shanghaiand other guests from Indonesiaand China.
Indonesian ambassador to China Imron Cotan, in apress statement sent to TheJakarta Post on Saturday, stated that the on board immigration service was aimed ateasing travel for Chinese tourists and to attract and bolster tourism, particularly fromChina.
He also underlined that the new service was in line with the spirit of the Indonesia-China Joint Declaration of Strategic Partnership 2005 and the Plan of Action 2010, in which the two countries committed to strengthening cooperation for the prosperity of its people.(dic)
