he Public Works Ministry's director general for highways, Djoko Murjanto, said on Friday that three toll roads currently under construction on Java Island would be completed by the end of 2015.
Djoko said that great efforts were being undertaken to complete the three highways, which would connect Semarang and Batang, Batang and Pemalang, and Pemalang and Pejagan, all in Central Java, as reported by tempo.co.
As reported earlier, the ministry has nine Trans-Java toll road projects in development that have been undergoing land acquisition processes since 2006.
The Semarang-Surakarta road is one of the projects that has seen slow progress as only 36.43 percent of its total land area has been cleared.
The Semarang-Bawen toll road is the second out of five sections of the Semarang-Surakarta toll road. (nai)
