ice President Boediono is scheduled to visit London, UK, from Oct. 28 to Nov. 1, Vice President spokesperson Yopie Hidayat said in a press statement in Jakarta, on Sunday, as quoted by Antara news agency.

Among the events Boediono slated to attend during his visit are the World Islamic Economic Forum on Oct. 29 and the Open Government Partnership (OGP) Summit on Nov. 1.

The Vice President is also scheduled to give a general lecture at the University of Oxford on Oct. 30.

'The Vice President will also meet with UK Prime Minister David Cameron,' said Yopie, adding that Cameron would transfer his position as co-chairman of the OGP Summit to Boediono.

OGP has 60 member countries, including Indonesia and aims to develop public service transparency and accountability.

Presidential Working Unit for Supervision and Management of Development (UKP4) chairman Kuntoro Mangkusubroto said the Vice President's presence proves that Indonesia has carried out various efforts to improve its public services.

Indonesia is one of eight OGP founding countries, together with Brazil, Mexico, Norway, South Africa, the Philippines, the UK and the US. (ebf)
