fter his stunning win in the opening round, Sean Winshand Cuhendi has yet to add a full point to his collection, leaving him with 3 points from five rounds at the ongoing Japfa Grandmaster tournament.

He drew with Irine Kharisma Sukandar in the fifth round on Saturday, which was his fourth draw on the trot. His only win came at the expense of Geetha Narayanan Gopal of India in the first round.

The International Master holder now has a mountain task to fulfill the expectation of gaining a GM [Grand Master] norm, with him having to take 5 points from the remaining 6 rounds.

A GM norm is an initial requirement for a player to be granted a full GM title.

'€œIt'€™s not an easy task, but I will try my best,'€ Sean said.

Against Irine, the 18 '€“year-old had to settle with a draw after his game plan, he admitted, did not work.

'€œI had prepared for Marshall attacks, but Irine'€™s eighth move came up against my expectation,'€ Sean said. In the following development, he said, he was too cautious about losing he worked out his way to seek a draw.
