Minister Abdul Rahman Dahlan said the amount was the cost of cleaning up the areas used by the demonstrators during the rally in Kuala Lumpur.

This, he said, was in addition to the cost of repairing damaged property.

He accused the demonstrators of having urinated everywhere, including on flower pots, behind buildings, under staircases and in drains.

Abdul Rahman said the clean-up bill was not inclusive of property damage caused by the demonstrators.

'€œI will leave it to City Hall to issue its own bill,'€ he said.

For the clean up, he said his ministry would send the bill to the organisers this week.

'€œI hope (organising chairman) Maria Chin Abdullah doesn'€™t spend all the 1.5 million ringgit they have collected.

'€œWe will be sending a bill to Bersih 2.0,'€ he said after the launch of the mandatory solid waste separation programme at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park here yesterday.

Waste management and cleaning for City Hall are carried out by the Solid Waste Management and Public Cleanliness Corporation (SWCorp), an agency under Abdul Rahman'€™s ministry.

He said there was no clean up cost for Bersih 4 rallies held in east Malaysia.

'€œSabah and Sarawak were good,'€ said Abdul Rahman, who is also Kota Belud MP. (++++)
