Southeast Asian online fashion store Zilingo, which recently expanded its operations in Indonesia through its brand campaign #SIAPASIHLO (Indonesian slang which means who are you?), has announced that it is striving to seriously invest more in its Indonesian business partners by providing them with English-language training scholarships and free medical check-ups.
During a press conference on Thursday, Zilingo Indonesia head of marketplace Melina Marpaung said the above-mentioned benefits reflected the e-commerce company’s commitment to invest in the personal growth of their business partners, which they deemed necessary to boost their business.
Melina also revealed that, currently, the e-commerce platform had 200 business partners in 18 provinces across Indonesia. They were mainly fashion brand and lifestyle product entrepreneurs who trusted Zilingo as their products’ main distribution channel, according to Melina.
While the free medical check-up benefit is available to all Zilingo partners, its scholarship program, however, is being offered on a meritocratic basis. Partners who are interested in getting the scholarship have to demonstrate their loyalty to the platform by being part of its loyalty seller program, which covers the scholarship.
Sisilia Zulfiyantini -- a Zilingo partner from Bandung, West Java, who runs her own fashion brand 2nd Red -- is one such partner who recently received a scholarship to attend the English language course.
Currently, her products are available in Indonesia only. “I am very happy. My dream is to sell my products overseas. I hope that by learning English more intensely, I will become more confident and adept in doing business outside Indonesia,” Sisilia said.
“English-language education further boosts our partners’ opportunities to expand their businesses overseas,” Melina said, adding that Zilingo was also offering the scholarships to loyal sellers’ children.
Besides upgrading their skills in conversational and written English, the e-commerce platform also equipped their partners with other important business skills through regular training programs, according to Melina.
A monthly long-distance training program helped Zilingo’s business partners stay abreast of the latest fashion trends, teaching them marketing skills such as visual and verbal content production, plus social media marketing techniques, according to a press release issued by Zilingo.
According to Melina, the e-commerce platform also offered free medical check-ups to its partners.
“A lot of our partners spend so much of their time developing their businesses that they often neglect their own health. We would like to ensure that all of our business partners are taken care of,” said Zilingo Indonesia marketing director Sarah Humaira.
