AIA achieves positive results for 2020 with focus on pandemic protection for customers

eading life insurance company PT AIA FINANCIAL (AIA) booked a strong performance in 2020 by recording Rp 53.3 trillion in assets, up from Rp 50 trillion in the same period the previous year.

It also holds the top position in the sum assured, with a total of Rp 686 trillion, surpassing the prepandemic level of 2019.

As COVID-19 drives demand for insurance, AIA also recorded revenue from premiums of Rp 13.5 trillion, with a solvability ratio of up to 630 percent, far surpassing the government’s requirement of 120 percent. This showcases AIA’s capability of fulfilling its long-term obligations, including in protecting its customers.

AIA Director Sainthan Satyamoorthy said in a statement that as part of AIA’s over 100 years of experience, the company’s products were designed to fit every situation, including pandemics.

“We are aware of our role’s significance in these challenging times: to provide protection for the people and help them get through the pandemic with assurance. The company’s achievements are the manifestation of our preparedness as an insurance company to help our customers live their lives despite the pandemic, as well as our collective effort from every team at AIA.

“We appreciate every employee, sales force and business partner for their sustained dedication to realizing AIA’s commitment to help millions of families in Indonesia live healthier, longer, better lives,” he said.

AIA also stayed true to its commitment to protect customers by paying a combined benefits claim of Rp 3.2 trillion in conventional and sharia-based insurance products throughout 2020. In its business practice, the company focuses on its prioritized strategy of Compelling Propositions, Unrivalled Distributions and Leading Customer Experience. 

Responding to the situation at hand, AIA has launched several initiatives to provide a sense of peace of mind for its customers, like the non physical face fo face service AIA DigiBuy and other products like AIA Power Pro Life and Maxi Protection Plus. Meanwhile, the Proteksi Lebih program provides additional benefits of Rp 1,500,000 in cash per day for a maximum of 30 days if customers are infected with COVID-19.

In early 2021, AIA launched AIA Vitality, a breakthrough health and wellness program connected to AIA’s core life insurance services. The program offers numerous rewards, including cash back for customers committed to pursue a healthier life through an exciting journey of Know Your Health, improve your health, enjoy the rewards.
