T Bangun Karya Perkasa Jaya (KRYA) has signed a Rp 240 billion (US$15.4 million) contract to procure 10,000 electric motorcycles, marking one of the construction firm’s most concrete steps yet into the electric vehicle market.
The deal was signed through its subsidiary, ECGO, with local electric motorcycle producer EVMoto, according to a company statement issued on Thursday. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in March 2026, with each unit priced at Rp 24 million.
The transaction underscores KRYA’s ongoing business transformation as it seeks to diversify beyond its core construction and steel fabrication operations amid rising competition in the sector.
Under the agreement, ECGO will serve as the operational vehicle for the group’s EV ambitions, overseeing procurement, logistics and production of the motorcycles, while KRYA itself will take on a broader role as a supply chain partner.
The company’s president director, William Teng, said the contract represented a shift from planning to execution in the firm’s EV strategy.
“This contract represents a concrete step in PT Bangun Karya Perkasa Jaya’s execution of its electric vehicle growth strategy. Through ECGO as our subsidiary, and with KRYA’s active role in the supply chain, we are building a solid operational foundation to support sustainable growth and create long-term value for our shareholders,” William said.
He added that the collaboration would serve as an initial platform for broader EV business development, including potential future strategic partnerships, in line with the company’s ongoing business transformation.
