S

tate asset fund Danantara CEO Rosan Roeslani said that around half a dozen downstream projects would begin construction in January, with total investment for the projects amounting to billions of dollars.

Rosan, who also serves as Investment and Downstream Minister, said on Wednesday that “we will start the groundbreaking of five to six projects” early next month, adding that he had consulted President Prabowo Subianto on the plan, according to Kontan.

He detailed that some of the projects set to commence include an aluminium smelter worth US$24 billion. In addition, there are refinery facilities for bio-aviation fuel in Cilacap, Central Java, which would require $1.1 billion in investment, as well as a bioethanol facility in Banyuwangi, East Java.

Rosan also mentioned a coconut downstream project but did not elaborate, along with poultry-related projects planned in East Java and West Nusa Tenggara.
