Nintendo has hit an all-time high with its newly released augmented reality game Pokémon Go.
In a new report based on average time spent by iPhone users on July 11 in the US, the game showed the highest user engagement in terms of time. Of the apps analyzed, Pokémon Go was used on an average of 33 minutes and 25 seconds, more than Facebook (22 minutes and 8 seconds), Snapchat (18 minutes and 7 seconds) or Twitter (17 minutes and 56 seconds).
It really does take time to catch ‘em all! This also serves as a great milestone for Nintendo, especially considering that the study was conducted just a few days after the release of the game.

When put up against other games, Pokémon Go still ranks pretty high with regards to time spent, according to a study by Sensory Tower. The game follows shortly after MZ’s Game of War, which totaled up to 2 hours of gameplay a day, and King’s Candy Crush Saga, which added up to 43 minutes a day.
Skeptics are still worried though about the steadfastness of the ratings and high usage. Some say that the game will fizzle as a nostalgic fad. Nevertheless, this is a feat that most app creators will regard jealously. (jam/kes)
