inger Agnez Mo has been tapped as a brand ambassador for e-commerce giant Lazada Indonesia as the company prepares a year-end shopping festival.

Agnez previously collaborated with the company in the 12.12 Gala Show in 2019 and the Lazada Birthday Show in 2020.

“A collaboration with an iconic figure such as Agnez Mo, with many achievements that make the nation proud, highlights Lazada’s commitment to Indonesia,” Lazada Indonesia chief marketing officer Monika Rudijono said in a statement.

“This collaboration with Lazada is a valuable opportunity for me [...]. Hopefully, I can help encourage the young generation to be more confident in reaching their dreams," said Agnez.

Previously known as Agnes Monica, the singer has been an entertainer since a very young age. She started her career as a child singer and is now involved in many facets of Indonesian media, including starring in several popular TV series and variety shows and recording five studio albums.

After residing in the United States to develop her career for an international audience, she changed her stage name to Agnez Mo.

Lazada is the fourth-most popular online shopping platform in Indonesia, according to iPrice data for the second quarter of this year. The company had more than 22 million visits to its website per month – below Shopee (93.44 million), Tokopedia (86.1 million) and Bukalapak (35.288 million).

Lazada Group was founded in 2012 and was acquired by Alibaba Group in 2016. Its markets include Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. (gis/kes)
