An online event on Nov. 15 will provide learning and sharing opportunities for players in the music and entertainment industry.
The inaugural edition of Contact Music and Entertainment Week(end) (CMEW) will be streamed via its website starting at 4 p.m.
Speakers to feature in the event are Nick Royaards, head of artist management of music festival Tomorrowland; Sean Sandoval, CEO of north agenda and production team of music festival Coachella and country music festival Stagecoach; Dino Hamid, CEO of event organizer Berlian Entertainment and chairman of the Association of Indonesian Music Promoters (APMI); Dewi Gontha, president director of PT Java Festival Production; and Anas Syahrul Alimi, founder of music promoter Rajawali Indonesia and CEO of Prambanan Jazz Festival.
CMEW will also present special performances by British singer-songwriter Bruno Major, Indonesian singer Vira Talisa and Indonesian band .Feast.
The event is free for the public but viewers are required to register online for tickets beforehand.
Presented by the Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry and the APMI, the Contact Music and Entertainment Week(end) is organized by HYPE Festival and Berlian Entertainment.
“I’m certain that this event can breathe new life into the music and entertainment industry in Indonesia,” Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Wishnutama Kusubandio said in a statement.
Dino said the plan was to make CMEW an annual event. “Contact Music and Entertainment Week(end), under #WeWillSurvive as this year’s theme, will provide ideas, knowledge and innovation to support players in the music and entertainment industry in Indonesia and abroad,” Dino said.
Established on Oct. 28, the APMI was initiated by seven prominent music promoters in the country, namely Dewi, Dino, Anas, Emil Mahyudin from Nada Promotama, David Karto from Synchronize Festival, Darshan Pridhnani from Hype Festival and Donny Junardy from Hammersonic Festival. It aims to improve the ecosystem of music festivals and shows in Indonesia. (wir/wng)
