ENPASAR: Denpasar muncipality has announced the victors of the Prince and Princess Endek Wendi Lasmi competition.
The winners were I Komang Machyo, who is in elementary school, and Evina Wilyonita, a junior high school student.
IGN Eddy Mulya, assistant at the municipality's economic development office, said the event aimed to preserve the production of endek (traditional woven cloth).
"We try to invite young people to wear endek daily," Mulya said.
Endek textile makers in Denpasar have frequently complained about their decreasing production.
