edan: Several students were wounded and two motorcycles burned in a clash between students of the schools of technology and agriculture at the North Sumatra University in Medan on Monday.

The clash was sparked by a misunderstanding between students of the two schools, who fought each other with bamboo and wooden sticks and rocks, causing tension on the campus.

Reporters wanting to cover the clash were denied entry to the campus. Several photographers who managed to take pictures were forced to delete them. The clash, which lasted nearly three hours, stopped after dozens of police officers, led by Medan Police chief Sr. Comr. Tagam Sinaga, arrived on the scene.

“The clash has ended, but the police officers are still on guard to anticipate any new clashes,” Tagam said.
