AKARTA: Privately-owned airline Sriwijaya Air says it will launch its first business-class service on May 15, with bookings beginning on May 10.

According to Sriwijaya Air’s corporate communications manager, Agus Soedjono, the airline has modified seven airplanes comprising one Boeing B737-800NG, one B7373-500, three Boeing B737-400s and two Boeing B737-300s, to accommodate the business-class segment.

“We have prepared seven airplanes and each will provide eight business-class seats,” Agus said.

The business class will be available on routes to 15 cities across the country, namely Ambon, Balikpapan, Bengkulu, Banjarmasin, Makassar, Manado, Manokwari, Medan, Sorong, Surabaya, Surakarta, Tanjungpandan, Ternate, Pangkalpinang and Yogyakarta.
