AKARTA: Singer Dewi Gita went all the way to London to entertain Indonesians living in the city with a dangdut performance last weekend.

The 42-year old said she was asked to sing a dangdut song at a gathering of Indonesian people in London.

“I am not a dangdut singer, actually,” she said as quoted by kapanlagi.com on Monday.

The performance was a hit as the wife of musician Armand Maulana managed to get the entire audience to dance to her songs.

The news portal reported that at least 2,000 people attended the event. Dewi was not the only star at the concert as the organizing committee also invited Mario Ginanjar, a member of local pop band Kahitna, to perform at the end of the show.
