resident Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has expressed his hope that Christmas 2012 will be celebrated inclusively and enjoyed by all Indonesians who wish to participate.
“The President said the Christmas celebration this year should be inclusive and enjoyed and understood by all parties,” Health Minister Nafsiah Mboi, who chairs this year’s organizing committee for the Christmas celebration, said after her meeting with the President on Friday.
Nafsiah was accompanied by Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Mari Elka Pangestu and Deputy Religious Affairs Minister Nasaruddin Umar.
According to Nafsiah, the Christmas 2012 celebration will peak at an event at the Jakarta Convention Center on Dec. 27 to be attended by President Yudhoyono and Vice President Boediono. She added that the National Christmas Committee would also have civic missions in South Lampung regency in Lampung, Singkawang regency in West Kalimantan, in South Sulawesi and in Papua.
