he Asia Media Summit is being held in the North Sulawesi provincial capital of Manado with the aim of discussing various issues, especially those linked to broadcast activities across the world.
The two-day meeting, scheduled to be opened by Communication and Information Minister Tifatul Sembiring on Wednesday, will be attended by participants from 26 Asian, European, American and African countries.
Topics to be discussed will include news packages and current strategic issues in the information field, head of the North Sulawesi provincial transportation, communication and information office Parlindungan Tampubolon said in Manado on Tuesday.
He said North Sulawesi Governor Sinyo Harry Sarundajang, director of the state broadcasting corporation Radio Republik Indonesia (RRI) Rosarita Niken Widiastuti and a number of officials from the Asian Pacific Institute for Broadcast Development (AIBD) would also take part in the meeting of the broadcasting industry.
"Hopefully, the meeting of broadcasters will produce recommendations related to broadcasting," Tampubolon said as quoted by Antara news agency.
