'Music streaming is indeed the future of music distribution.'
These words came from rising pop star Raisa. The singer has collaborated with the music-streaming application Guvera by making a celebrity playlist of tracks she loves, such as John Legend's 'All of Me'.
Your comments:
I admit that I am still illegally downloading music (usually foreign artists). I used to buy albums in CD format. But now I never do that anymore because, first, the CDs are always played when I'm driving, which isn't something that I do frequently.
Second, imported albums are relatively expensive for me. But I always buy local records (mostly independent artists), which are relatively affordable for me, and part of appreciating their hard work.
I agree the notion of music streaming is the future of music distribution. I mostly listen to music using gadgets. Records I buy are ripped to digital format, leaving the original discs unused, even though the packaging was eye-catching.
Making more methods for payment is certainly a good idea, but ad-funded music streaming could be a good start since many people are still reluctant to pay for streaming (they would prefer to illegally download music).
An ad-funded system is also good way to reap a wider market share, especially for people who aren't really financially literate.
