fter Tangerang, Bogor and Bekasi city, PT Kereta Commuter Jabodetabek (KCJ) will expand its electric train (KRL) service to Cikarang in Bekasi regency, West Java.
According to Agus Komarudin, spokesman for KCJ's parent company PT KAI operation region (Daop) I, the route will be in operation by 2016. 'The large number of people commuting from Cikarang to Jakarta has prompted us to expand the KRL route to Cikarang. We hope the commuters will find it easier to commute to the city,' Agus said as quoted by kompas.com.
He added that the track would be extended from the existing tracks at Bekasi train station in West Java.
Agus explained that the route would connect Manggarai station in South Jakarta to the industrial complexes in Cikarang and Karawang.
