Transjakarta to offer single trip fare

B

usway operator PT Transjakarta has said it plans to issue a single-trip ticket option for passengers who do not use the Transjakarta busway service regularly.

'€œ[..] there will be a single-trip option that will make it easier for passengers who do not use the Transjakarta service regularly and for those who do not have the Rp 20,000 [US$1.57] to top up their electronic cards,'€ Transjakarta chief director Antonius NS Kosasih said on Sunday as quoted by kompas.com.

It was reported earlier that all Transjakarta passengers would be required to have electronic cards with a minimum travel value of Rp 20,000.

Antonius said Transjakarta also planned to abolish additional fees for passengers using the Integrated Bus Network (APTB) buses that run on the Transjakarta bus lanes. The plan is scheduled to take effect by the end of March.

He added that six APTB bus companies had agreed to integrate into Transjakarta'€™s management. They included PT Anugerah Mas, PT Bianglala Metropolitan, PT Sinar Jaya Megah Langgeng, PT Mayasari Bhakti, PT Hiba Utama and Perum PPD.

By integrating the companies into Transjakarta'€™s management, Antonius said, it was hoped that there would be no more APTB buses that picked up and set down passengers anywhere at their behest. The plan is also hoped to prevent APTB buses leaving the Transjakarta lanes. (++++)
