ublicly listed bread producer PT Nippon Indosari Corpindo (ROTI), the maker of Sari Roti, says that it has allotted Rp 350 billion for spending (US$27.3 million) this year, a 191 percent jump from last year.
'The investment will be used for production machines, machine maintenance and expansion to help support the company's performance in 2015,' ROTI public relations executive Stephen Orlando said on Thursday as quoted by kontan.co.id.
Stephen, however, refused to comment on the additional capacity of the company's factories this year after allocating more funds.
According to ROTI data, its production capacity in 2014 was 4 million bread daily, up from 3.5 million in the previous year.
Last year, the firm completed construction of its new factories in Cikande, Banten and Purwakarta, West Java, increasing the number of its factories to 10.
In addition, he said the company would continue to create innovative products.
The company recently launched a sandwich filled with srikaya (coconut custard), double soft wheat bread and strawberry dorayaki (Japanese pancake). (nfo)(++++)
