63 CCTV cameras broken

T

he Jakarta Police'€™s Traffic Management Center (TMC) has not been able to access 63 closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras owned by the city administration for the past two weeks as the cameras appear to be broken.

The cameras were installed across the capital to monitor traffic.

'€œAccording to available information, the 63 cameras have been damaged. The cameras are disconnected,'€ TMC technology and information division head Adj. Comr. Budi Harsono said as quoted by beritajakarta.com on Saturday.

Among the damaged cameras is one installed in Senen, Central Jakarta, which sees heavy traffic during busy hours.

To continue their work, the TMC currently relies on 54 CCTV cameras operated by the National Traffic Management.

The city administration has plans to install thousands of CCTV cameras across the capital for traffic monitoring and security purposes. (***)
